Vaccination means Health

Many adults don't know they are supposed to get immunized against diseases. They think vaccinations are for kids. There are millions of adults in this country who need influenza, tbc, tetanus, diptheria, hepatitis B, and other vaccines. Are you one of them? Getting immunized in a tropical country is a lifelong, life-protecting job. Make sure you and your doctors keep your vaccinations up to date! Don't leave the clinic without asking your doctor if you've had all the vaccinations you need. Protect yourself!
 
Explanation about each vaccination :
  • Tetanus, Diptheria, Pertussis vaccine: Prevents from three serious diseases that can cause permanent damage or death.
  • Tetanus Toxoid: Prevents specifically againtst infection by clostridium tetani whose toxin can cause lockjaw, muscular spasm that can also occur to muscle of respiration leading to breathing difficulty, abnormal heart rhythm may present and in the severest form death may ensue.
  • Hepatitis B vaccine: Protects against hepatitis B virus, which can cause infection that may persist for years giving rise to chronic liver disease resulting in irreversible severe liver damage i.e. hepatic cirrhosis. Also, the chance of liver cancer to develop is elevated in these individuals.
  • Hepatitis A vaccine: Protects against infection caused by hepatitis A virus, which can cause serious liver disease having symptoms such as jaundice, fever, naused, several abdominal pains and liver enlargement.
  • Combined vaccine Hepatitis B and A are also available through one injection.
  • Influenza Vaccine: Prevents the flu, a highly contagious infection that may result in serious illness, and even death, especially in young children and older adults.
  • Mumps, Measles, and Rubella (MMR): Prevents from three serious disease-mumps, measles, and rubella - serious complications involved amongst  others: orchitis (inflammation of testicles) and permanent disability for the oncoming baby.
  • Typhoid Vaccine: Prevents infection from Salmonella Typhi which causes an acute life-threatening febrile illness.
  • Varicella vaccine: Prevents from chicken pox a common childhood disease that can lead to serious complications.
  • Japanese Encephalitis vaccine: Prevents a mosquito - borne infection that can cause viral encephalitis i.e. inflammation of brain tissue.
  • Rabies Vaccine: Protects against the rabies, which can cause headache, abnormal behavior, irritability, agitation and may progress to muscular spasm. In some cases, paralysis may occur in the bitten limbs and spreads..
  • Mantoux Test: Is used to see if a person has been infected by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the bacterium that causes tuberculosis (Tb).
  • Malaria Tablets: Prevents from the disease caused by a protozoan parasites of the genus Plasmodium that can cause fever, shivering, pain in the joints and headache, and may develop into more potentially life - threatening severe clinical condition.
